How to Get a Useful Photo Quote

Good photos help establish what is present and how it can be reached. They do not replace disclosure of heavy, hidden, or potentially hazardous materials.

Take three useful views

  • One wide photo showing the entire pile or room
  • A closer photo showing the material types
  • A photo of the loading route, stairs, gate, or parking area

Add measurements and context

Include approximate pile length, width, and height or use a familiar object for scale. State the city, whether items are inside or outside, the floor level, and the distance from the loading area.

Call out heavy or restricted items

Mention concrete, brick, dirt, sod, roofing, appliances, electronics, liquids, chemicals, paint, batteries, pressurized containers, or anything you are unsure about. Do not hide items under a visible layer of lighter debris.

Explain the timing

  • Preferred date or project phase
  • Whether the pile is complete or still growing
  • Site-contact availability
  • Any access window, parking, or HOA restriction
